Click Connect on the WhatsApp card
In Social Intents, open Integrations and click Connect on the WhatsApp card. You need a Meta Business account and a phone number, new or one you already use.

Answer one question about your number
Is the number already active in the WhatsApp Business App on a phone? Choose Yes to keep the app working alongside Social Intents (Coexistence mode). Choose No for a landline, a new number, or Cloud API only.

Sign in with Meta and verify the number
Meta's signup window opens. Pick your WhatsApp Business Account (or create one) and verify the number. Social Intents then registers it with the WhatsApp Cloud API and subscribes to message webhooks for you.

Choose where WhatsApp chats go
In Settings > Channels > WhatsApp, pick the widget for the number. That widget decides whether chats land in a Microsoft Teams channel, a Slack channel, a Google Chat space, or the web inbox. You can also show the agent's name on replies and let agents start outbound conversations.

Keep the WhatsApp Business App With Coexistence Mode
Connecting a number to the WhatsApp Cloud API normally switches off the WhatsApp Business App for that number. Coexistence mode keeps both running, so the owner can keep replying from a phone while the team answers from Teams, Slack, or Google Chat.

Meta's WhatsApp fees
- Replies are free inside the 24-hour window. When a customer messages you, you have 24 hours from their last message to reply with free-form messages at no charge.
- Templates are charged per message. To start a conversation or follow up after the window closes, WhatsApp requires an approved message template. Meta charges per delivered template, based on its category (marketing, utility, or authentication) and the customer's country.
- Meta bills you directly. Fees go to the payment method on your WhatsApp Business Account, not through Social Intents.
